Unseen 02 docking connector?

I just got an 02 a few weeks back for those that don’t know. I’ve yet to move to it and use it for any great deal of time.

I found this in my bag of 02 stuff. I wonder when this was made. Is this the first design of the 02 docking connector or a later design to explore options. Im going to make a guess and say this was one of the first designs for the 02’s dongle cable. Any kind X OQO want to tell me how this fits into the design timeline?
